Wallace Falls

Saturday morning came and I didn't want to wake up. That's not really a profound statement by itself, but this weekend was different. I had spent the night reminiscing with an old friend, half-asleep, lying next to a fireplace that gave off the most comforting heat. That morning we were to embark on a hiking trip up to Wallace Falls in Snohomish county, east of a quaint little town named Gold Bar.

We made a quick trip down to the local grocery and picked up some snacks for the trip, and then had a breakfast for champions (McDonalds). We drove from the city of Snohomish to Wallace Falls, which was about 25 miles. The drive itself was nice: the fall leaves were bright yellows and oranges, the little towns along Highway 2 were inviting and rich in history, and the traffic wasn't bad at all. Vanessa grew up in the area, so she was able to talk in depth about the area, giving me a quick history lesson and pointing out different landmarks.
